How can I book tickets?
Advanced booking in person at the Ice Rink is not available, but you can turn up and pay for your session (if we have availability) without pre-booking. We encourage you to book in advance to avoid disappointment, particularly at weekends, School Holidays and Christmas/New Year period.
Can I purchase a ticket on the day?
Yes, you can buy tickets on the day, tickets are sold subject to availability so we would always encourage you to book in advance to avoid disappointment
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your skate session to allow time to check in and collect your skates.
How long are the sessions?
Each skate session is 1 hour.
Where can I park?
Free car parking is available within the Macdonald Aviemore Resort’s main car park, which also includes accessible parking spaces and EV charging points.
Are there toilets on-site?
yes we have 2 portaloos situated outside the building available for customers. There is matting to allow you to walk out with your skates on.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes under certain circumstances we can provide a refund. For any online refunds please contact our Ice Rink manager by email - amanda.clinton@aviemoreicerink.com
Can I change my online ticket?
Yes, you can change the date and time of your ticket up to 1 hour in advance of your booking. Please email hello@aviemoreicerink.com
What if I arrive late for my session?
Skaters will be allowed on part way through their session but may not be allowed to extend their time into the next session.
Please note that this will be at the discretion of the rink staff.
Do you offer ice skate sharpening?
Yes, ice skate sharpening is done Weekly and is priced at £6 per pair of skates, you can pay one of our staff members when you receive your sharpened skates.
Are there any age restrictions?
No, we don't have any age restrictions for public skating sessions. As long as you are comfortable with them skating.
Are ice skates included? What sizes are available?
Skate hire is included in the cost of your skating ticket. We have skates from junior size 7 to adult size 14. You are very welcome to bring your own skates. We have bob-skates (double-blade skates) for those with junior size 6 or below (please note limited numbers available).
Do you have skating aids?
We have 15 fun Polar Bears and Penguin skating aids. These cannot be booked in advance and are hired on a first-come first-served basis for £5 each.
Do I need to wear a helmet?
We have a limited supply of helmets but you are very welcome to bring your own helmets.
Can I use my mobile phone on the ice?
No loose items are permitted on the ice including mobile phones and bags, this is for your own safety and the safety of others.
What should I wear to ice skate?
We recommend warm comfortable outdoor clothing and long socks and gloves.
Can wheelchairs users go on the ice?
Yes, wheelchairs can go on the ice.
Do you have first aid on site?
Yes, in the unlikely event you or a member of your party needs first aid treatment, please alert a member of staff who will be able assist you. Please advise a member of staff if you have injured yourself, we will require to take a few details from you.
What happens if I have an accident whilst ice skating?
Ice skating is a sporting activity, all sports carry associated risks. Participants do so at their own free will and understand the risks. You can read our full disclaimer here
Is there CCTV in operation?
CCTV is in operation through the ice rink. Images are recorded 24 hours a day for safety, security and insurance purposes.
Do you sell refreshments at the Ice Rink?
Yes, we have a selection of hot, cold drinks and confectionary goods available at the Ice Rink. We are located within Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort which has a coffee shop, cafes and restaurants.
